Give me a camera; let me tell you a story.
I like art. I like story. I like cameras. I love it when the three come together.
After completing my studies in film at UTS with a BA Communications (Media Arts and Production), I have worked in camera department on features, television and tvcs and have been shooting projects from shorts, documentary, tvcs and promotional campaigns. I have worked in Australia and overseas across a diverse range of projects both large and small, digital and film.
More recently I was the cinematographer on Remedy, a music video directed by Russell Crowe which won an ACS Silver award.
I was the cinematographer and photographer on Rachel Perkins’ Arrernte Women’s Project. Shot in Alice Springs, it documented the songlines of the Arrernte women for future generations.
I was awarded the 2017 ACS Drew Llewelyn Camerimage Scholarship.
I launched my first solo photography exhibition And I Thought I Was Dreaming in May 2016. From this series, my photo Andrew Mason was selected as finalist in the 2017 Head On Photo Festival portrait category.
